Three student poster prizes have been awarded during the ESPM-16th conference. The ESPM-16th student poster prizes were co-sponsored by Solar Physics Journal (part of Springer Nature). The awardees are:

• 1st prize: Zihao Yang (Peking University, China) for his work entitled "Magnetoseismology for the solar corona: from ~10 Gauss to coronal magnetograms"

• 2nd prize: Florian Koller (University of Graz, Austria) for his work entitled "First results on production of magnetosheath jets during to SIRs and CMEs"

• 3rd prize: Seray Sahin (Northumbria university, UK) for her work entitled "Prevalence of thermal non-equilibrium over an active region"

Deadline: February 7th, 2021 Since 2017, the European Solar Physics Division (ESPD) of the European Physical Society (EPS) awards two prizes yearly: the ESPD PhD Thesis Prize, the ESPD Early Career Researcher (Postdoc) Prize. The deadline for nomination is February 7th, 2021. The 2021 ESPD PhD Thesis Prize will be awarded to a young researcher whose PhD thesis/viva was defended in 2020. The 2021 ESPD Early Career Prize will be awarded to a young researcher whose PhD was awadered after 01/01/2017 (with possible extension). The European Solar Physics Division board is delighted to present the 2020 ESPD Prize winners:

PhD Thesis Prize to Dr. Stefan Hofmeister (PhD carried at Institute of Physics, University of Graz, Austria) - Prize awarded for outstanding observational analysis of solar coronal holes, their magnetic fine structure and the associated high-speed solar wind streams.

Early Career Researcher Prize to Dr. Victor Réville (currently working at IRAP, France) - Prize awarded for fundamental contributions to creating self-consistent multi-dimensional numerical models of coronal heating and solar wind acceleration via wave turbulence.

PhD Thesis Prize to Dr. Peter Levens (PhD carried at University of Glasgow, UK) for significant contributions to the study of
tornado-like prominences - using detailed ultraviolet spectroscopic, multi wavelength imaging and visible spectropolarimetric observational analysis - helping to unveil the nature of these structures.

Early Career Researcher Prize to Dr. Tanausú del Pino Alemán (currently at Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, Spain) for ground breaking contributions in the field of theoretical solar spectropolarimetry, developing novel methods and very efficient radiative transfer computer programs for understanding scattering line polarization using realistic atomic and atmospheric models.
