The EPS Accelerator Group was formed in 1988. It unites individuals as well as laboratories and other institutes interested in particle accelerators, storage rings and similar devices as used in scientific research and practical applications.

The EPS Energy Group provides a forum for Member Societies and European scientists interested in questions relating to energy and technologies for the supply, distribution, transformation and use of energy in society. Its activities include the organisation of workshops and conferences, as well as the exchange of information among the different EPS Member Societies.

The EPS History of Physics Group is interested in all aspects of the history of physics. It welcomes suggestions and initiatives from members of the society to commemorate their famous physicists, to recover the lost history of the more minor figures that contributed to physics, to celebrate the achievements of our profession, and to draw lessons on science policy from its past successes and failures.

The EPS Technology and Innovation Group (TIG) was formed in 1988. It connects individual and associate EPS members as well as laboratories and other institutions interested in the use of technology as used in scientific research and related innovations resulting in applications.
